Mavina Baker

I’m an artist printmaker, making work that's inspired by nature and literature, and I also make books. I seek to capture the essence of a subject in its simplest form, often carving directly into the wood and drawing as I carve. I have always been particularly interested in printmaking by hand and I consider that that is the main drive and thread which connects all my work. I have explored many methods of printmaking from potato to digital, but woodcut and collage are my preferred medium.
